“Did it hurt?” That’s the most common question asked. Not “did you enjoy the pain?” or something interesting like that.

It’s an ink-filled needle jabbing into your skin 6,000 times an hour. Of course it HURTS. But maybe I did it because I like pain. Ever think of that? (In truth, I’m a wuss when it comes to pain. Although I did manage to hold in my screaming until we got outside to the parking lot.)

So finally the long-awaited deed is done. I went through with it. I got a tattoo. Yeay. I’ve been wanting to do it for years, but wasn’t quite sure what I wanted where.

sils_tattoo_webLocation: upper right back/shoulder area. Between the bra strap and the spine. Covering up a much-detested scar that I got from having an atypical mole dug out of my back a bit more than a year ago.

Tattoo artist: TJ Hatch at While Tiger Tattoo. If you’re in Rochester, NY, and are considering getting a tat, she comes recommended by me. I had to wait 7 weeks and she’s not exactly inexpensive, but she’s a great artist, a fun, down-to-earth person and has a great chair-side manner.
